We met in 2011 and pretty quickly realized we didn’t want to be apart. We got engaged in 2016 and married in 2017. Since then, we’ve traveled a lot, rescued a couple of very spoiled dogs and a cat and built a really happy life together.

Ashwin cooks for anyone who’ll sit at the table and plays piano, usually Beatles songs. Natasha loves going to the ballet and is usually in the middle of some kind of home project. Together we love hiking, traveling, trying new restaurants, and going to the theatre.

Natasha on Ashwin: He is the calmest, most patient person I know. He listens before he speaks, walks the dogs before I can ask, and loves people exactly as they are.

Ashwin on Natasha: She is warm, funny, and incredibly thoughtful and kind. She is the person everyone naturally gathers around, and the best partner I could have asked for.

Family is a huge priority in our lives. Ashwin’s parents and sister live in India, and Natasha’s large family is spread all over the world (US, Canada, England, Mexico, and India). Even with everyone in different places, we’re very close and always visiting each other or FaceTiming. Between holidays, birthdays, dinners, and family trips, there’s usually a lot going on, and everyone is excited to welcome a new addition to the family.

We always knew adoption would be part of our story. When we decided we were ready to become parents, it felt like the right path for us. We’re very excited to grow our family through adoption.

We can’t wait to teach our child how to cook family recipes, play music, get messy with art projects, and figure out what they love doing most. But mostly we’re excited for the things that just come with being a family and really being there for each other.

Holidays are a big deal in our house, and we love hosting them. Natasha makes sure we have a giant Christmas tree and a feast with turkey, every kind of potato, pies, cakes, and whatever else fits on the table. Ashwin strings Diwali lights through the house, and we both make sure there’s a Thanksgiving table that leaves everyone too full to move.

Our home is a five-bedroom house just outside Boston at the end of a quiet, tree-lined cul-de-sac. We have a big backyard with a patio and deck, summer BBQs, and pizzas from the pizza oven year-round. There are lots of young kids on our street, and there’s usually music playing, one of the dogs wandering through the kitchen, and some half-finished project going on around the house. In the summer we spend a lot of evenings outside on the deck with friends and family while Louie, Henry, and Leo sleep nearby by the fire.
