About AWL/Staff and Board

Adoptions With Love has placed over 1,600 children in loving adoptive homes. Equally important, each staff member is a caring, supportive person who provides friendship and concern for every individual involved in the adoption process.


Amy S. Cohen, LICSW, Executive Director
Amy has been working at AWL since 1986 and she became the Executive Director in October 2001. Amy’s responsibilities include overseeing the day-to-day operations of the office and formulating and implementing plans for AWL’s future. Amy works extensively with expectant birth parents over the phone and in person. She also conducts home studies and provides post placement services for adoptive families. Amy has a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Social Work. Amy is married and has two young adult children. Amy also became a grandmother in August 2016.


Nancy Rosenhaus, LICSW, Associate Director
Nancy has a Master’s Degree in Social Work with extensive experience. She came to AWL in October of 1988 and became the Associate Director in 2001. Nancy counsels expectant/birth parents who are considering placing their child for adoption and she works with couples who are considering building their families through adoption. Nancy also provides on-going counseling for families regarding talking to their children about adoption and has chaired the SEARCH committee which has begun a search and reunion program at AWL. She has facilitated reunions between birth parents and adoptees. She has been a guest speaker for school systems training faculty about adoption issues. Nancy is married and has two adult daughters.

Nuala Sullivan-Wall, LSW, Social Worker
Nuala Sullivan-Wall, LSW, Contract Social Worker
Nuala has been working for Adoptions With Love, Inc. as a consulting social worker since 2006, providing birth parent counseling, conducting home studies and post-placement services. She has been doing adoption social work for the past 24 years. Nuala has provided hundreds of expectant/birth parents with supportive compassionate counseling and continues to maintain long term relationships with many of these individuals. She has provided homestudy and post placement services to adoptive families and has been told how comfortable she makes people feel. She stays in touch with many of her clients from over 20 years ago! She enjoys working with all members of the adoption triad. Nuala has also worked as a hospital social worker providing services for labor and delivery and the neonatal intensive care unit. She is married with three young children and lives in Western MA.

Jessica Traniello, LICSW – Clinical Social Worker

Jessica joined the staff of Adoptions with Love, Inc., in September of 2018. Jessica came to Adoptions with Love from Boston Children’s Hospital, where she counseled families of children with chronic illness. At Adoptions with Love, Jessica works closely with both expectant/birth parents and adoptive parents. Seeing families created brings so much joy to her as well as making a connection to a young woman facing the crises of an unplanned pregnancy. Jessica holds an undergraduate degree from Syracuse University and master’s degree in social work from Boston University. Outside of work, Jessica enjoys spending time with her new husband, her dog Bowser, and family and friends.
