Amy S. Cohen, LICSW, Executive Director

Amy has been working at AWL since 1986 and she became the Executive Director in October 2001. Amy’s responsibilities include overseeing the day-to-day operations of the office and formulating and implementing plans for AWL’s future. Amy works extensively with expectant birth parents over the phone and in person. She also conducts home studies and provides post placement services for adoptive families. Amy has a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Social Work. Amy is married and has two young adult children.

Nancy Rosenhaus, LICSW, Associate Director

Nancy has a Master’s Degree in Social Work with extensive experience. She came to AWL in October of 1988 and became the Associate Director in 2001. Nancy counsels expectant/birth parents who are considering placing their child for adoption and she works with couples who are considering building their families through adoption. Nancy also provides on-going counseling for families regarding talking to their children about adoption and has chaired the SEARCH committee which has begun a search and reunion program at AWL. She has facilitated reunions between birth parents and adoptees. She has been a guest speaker for school systems training faculty about adoption issues. Nancy is married and has two young adult daughters.

Karen Strem, Office Manager

Karen is responsible for managing the office on a daily basis. You can hear Karen’s warm and compassionate voice helping birth parents and adoptive families when she answers the phone. Her kind words always put you at ease. Karen is responsible for maintaining picture files for birth parents that have placed their children through AWL. Karen has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Sociology and is working on her Master’s degree. She is the mother of three sons.

Christine Mealey, Birth Parent Coordinator

Christine coordinates services for expectant/birth parents who are considering placing a child for adoption. Her enthusiasm, warmth, and compassion help her to establish longstanding relationships with birth parents both during pregnancy and after placement. Christine also maintains the picture files for birth parents that have placed a child for adoption. Christine has a Bachelors Degree from University of Massachusetts Amherst in Sociology and has worked in the field of therapeutic foster care prior to coming to Adoptions with Love.

Nuala Sullivan-Wall, LSW, Social Worker
Nuala has been working for Adoptions With Love, Inc. as a consulting social worker since the Fall of 2006, providing birth parent counseling, conducting home studies and post-placement services. She brings with her eighteen years of experience in working as an adoption social worker. Nuala has provided hundreds of expectant/birth parents with supportive counseling and continues to maintain long term relationships with many of these individuals. She has provided homestudy and post placement services to adoptive families and has been told how comfortable she makes people feel. She enjoys working with all members of the adoption triad. Nuala is also a hospital social worker providing services for labor and delivery and the neonatal intensive care unit. She is married with two young boys and lives in Western MA.
