About Me

Hello !  my name is Jennifer and I am a Hospital Administrator but I can’t wait to be a mother.  I love playing the piano, traveling, working out, reading and cooking special dishes.  I hope this gives you insight into who I am and who I will be as a mother to your child.  I am honored that you are reviewing my information.

Special Activities I Look Forward to Doing with my Child

There are so many fun things to do with children in the Boston area!  I’m looking forward to taking my child to the Children’s Museum, the New England Aquarium, local beaches and parks.  Travel, including road trips around New England and plane trips to fun cities, is definitely something I look forward to doing with him or her as well.

Every year my close knit family spends a week on Cape Cod going to the beach, golfing, cooking out, and relaxing.  It’s something we look forward to and I can’t wait to experience it with my child.

There will also be music and swim classes, theater and sporting events, and many playdates with cousins and friends.  I’d like to expose my child to a variety of fun activities and then let him or her decide those that bring the most joy and fulfillment.

Extended Family

My parents live in the same town as me and my sister and her family live in the same neighborhood.  As you can tell we are all quite close.  My adorable nephews Scotty (3) and Teddy (1) cannot wait to meet their new cousin.

I’m also stepmom to Emily and Maggie.  Although I’m no longer married to their father, the girls and I are still very close. They are excited to be involved in their little brother or sister’s life.

Most of my aunts, uncles and cousins live nearby and we see each other often.  My child will be raised in an environment filled with the love of many.

Holiday Gatherings

Holidays are so much fun in my family!  Formal holidays like Christmas and Easter are spent at Nana and Grampa’s house with games, music, and delicious food.  Birthdays are similar – with a large extended family, we are always celebrating someone and eating cake.  When the weather is nice, we often have cookouts and more informal gatherings as well.

My Adoption Story

I intend to integrate adoption into our conversations while my child is young through books, pictures, and when appropriate, visits with the birth family.  I’ve already started taking pictures of various milestones such as dropping off my adoption application and having home study meetings to incorporate into my baby book.  Celebrating each milestone and sharing with my child will show that, even though I didn’t give birth to him or her, I anticipated his or her arrival with great joy and gratitude.

As my child gets older, I will continue to ensure that adoption is a natural part of our family story and will take cues from him or her about when and what they want to know more information.  I intend to be as open as possible depending on the needs of the child and birth parents.  Because I have stepchildren and have collaborated with their mother and stepfather regarding their care, I know how rewarding it can be to raise a child in a family in which the roles may not be traditional, but everyone is united in love for him or her.

I think it’s important for our baby to know who his or her birth parents are and, if everyone is comfortable, establish ways to keep connected over time.

My Home and Neighborhood

My condo is in a beautiful suburb of Boston, MA on a reservoir surrounded by hiking trails.  The school system is excellent and there are lots of community events and resources for children close by.

The Mickey Mouse-themed nursery is ready!  All rooms have been professionally baby-proofed to ensure that children can play safely.

Thanks again and I wish you well in your journey to find the best family for your baby.
