Meet Justin and Kai-Ching...
-
About Us:
Hi. We are Kai-Ching and Justin. Kai-Ching was born in Taiwan and came to the US in 2005, to study music. She is a piano teacher who loves trying new recipes. Justin works in IT, and he enjoys staying fit and drawing in his sketchbook.
-
Our Story:
Our first date was supposed be just coffee, but after chatting and laughing for hours we extended it to the dinner, we have been deeply in love ever since. That was 2018 and we were married in 2024.
-
Our Hobbies:
Kai-Ching has a great passion for music and new experiences. Justin competes in Brazilian Jujitsu to keep him fit and make friends. He also loves the arts. We both love nature.
-
Qualities We See in Each Other:
Kai-Ching is someone who creates joy wherever she goes, caring for each person deeply and helping them feel comfortable, and helps them be their best.
Justin is dependable and thoughtful, driven to find truth and meaning while showing up with warmth and integrity every day. And he is a very good dancer.
-
Our Extended Family:
We make it a priority to stay close to family. Justin’s family lives nearby, and with his parents now happily remarried, we’re lucky to have “double the grandparents.” His brother and sister-in-law have two teenage boys. Kai-Ching’s family is in Taiwan, but they stay closely connected and talk almost every day—her parents run a pharmacy in their small town, and she has an older brother and an older sister with a pre-teen daughter. Whether just down the street or across the world, our families mean everything to us.
-
Our Adoption Story:
We found each other late in life, but we know it is not too late for us to build a family. We tried interfertility treatments, but when that did not work out, we were excited to explore adoption. Our only goal is to build a family and raise a child to be the most amazing person they can be.
-
Special Activities We Look Forward to Doing With Our Child:
Justin looks forward to teaching our child about all the wonderous things in the word, including hiking, museums and painting.
Kai-Ching can’t wait for all the little moments like reading them stories at bedtime. She is already imagining how cute the baby will be as they fall asleep next to her.
-
Holiday Gatherings:
Our year is full of celebrations because we observe all the traditional American holidays and the Taiwanese ones as well. This means family at Christmas and picnics on the fourth of July, as well as gatherings of friends and family for Hot Pot on Chinese New Year.
-
Our Home & Neighborhood:
We live in a small town just outside the city with great schools. There is a big lake right down the street, with multiple playgrounds and a place to rent Kayaks in the summer. The city is a quick drive away so we can take our child to the world-renowned children’s museum there.
There’s lots more to learn about this family!
