We met in New York City in 2017 and instantly connected. On our very first date discovered we both shared the dream of becoming parents someday. That shared hope shaped our relationship from the beginning. We married in 2022 and later moved to the Boston area, where Brett grew up, to build a life closer to family. Our relationship is built on friendship, laughter, and mutual respect, and we love spending time together whether traveling, hiking, cooking dinner, or relaxing at home.

We both enjoy being active and spending time outdoors. Hiking nearby trails, skiing in the winter, and visiting the beach are some of our favorite activities. At home, Scott enjoys interior design, baking (especially blueberry pie), and woodworking projects. Brett loves cooking, hosting gatherings with friends and family, cheering on New England sports teams, and planning trips and adventures.

Family plays a central role in our lives. Brett’s parents and brother live nearby, and we spend time together often, especially with our niece Lily, who was born in 2025. Scott’s dad lives in New Jersey, and we visit him frequently. We are also lucky to have close friendships that feel like extended family. Our child will grow up surrounded by loving grandparents, cousins, and friends.

As a same-sex couple, we have always known building our family would take intention. Adoption feels like a meaningful and beautiful path for us. We believe family is built through love, commitment, and the everyday moments spent caring for one another.

We look forward to sharing both the big milestones and the simple everyday moments with our child—Saturday morning pancakes, bedtime stories, beach days with grandparents, opening presents on Christmas, and cheering from the sidelines at whatever activities they love.

Our home is a custom-built modern farmhouse in a peaceful town surrounded by nature and nearby hiking trails. We designed it with children in mind and hope to fill it with laughter and memories. Our gentle Labrador retriever, Charlie, is the heart of our home and loves everyone she meets—we know she will be a loyal companion to a future child.
