Meet Tony and Yiota...
-
About Us:
Yiota is a director in a public school district and Tony is a corporate chef. We own a home in a city five miles from Boston where we live with our 2 ½ year old son, Joseph, and our two rescue cats: Penelope and Apollo. We are excited to welcome a new sibling into our family!
-
Our Story:
We met in Greece over 20 years ago when we were both teenagers. We have been best friends and partners in life ever since, and we tied the knot in 2007.
-
Our Hobbies:
We love going on adventures near and far, spending time at the beach and discovering new places. We also enjoy quiet, cozy times and movie nights at home.
-
Qualities We See in Each Other:
Yiota is a selfless, loving and caring individual. She has always believed in me and encouraged me to dream bigger by supporting me in my life goals. I am excited to see her do the same with our children.
Tony is a partner who is loyal, dependable, and always trying to make sure everything is good and that Joseph and I are happy. He does the cooking at home and keeps the household running smoothly. He is silly and a lot of fun!
-
Our Extended Family:
Yiota’s large family lives around Boston and in Greece. Most of Tony’s family lives in Greece, with some cousins in Massachusetts.
Spending time with family is the most important thing. We all work together to take care of children and elderly family members. We band together when times are tough, and cherish every happy moment together.
Our family gatherings are loud, fun, sometimes silly, sometimes serious, and full of love!
-
Our Adoption Story:
After a decade of infertility and losses, adoption brought us the gift of Joseph. Watching him grow into a joyful, sweet boy—cuddly yet ready for dance parties—reminds us daily of his birth mother’s strength and grace. Through yearly visits and regular messages, we share an open adoption and cherish our bond with his birth family.
-
Special Activities We Look Forward to Doing with Our Child:
We are excited to share our love with our children, guide and support them as they grow. No matter how busy life gets, we have dinner as a family every night. We bake cookies, read lots of stories (in both English and Greek), play outside, sing and dance! We also want to help our children discover their own unique interests to explore.
-
Holiday Gatherings:
In our culture Easter is one of our biggest holidays and we love hosting it at our house. Christmas and birthdays are a big deal and love spending it with family and friends.
-
Our Home & Neighborhood:
In our neighborhood, everyone knows everyone. It is not unusual to see people help each other remove snow after a storm or host a BBQ in the summer or having all the kids playing together.
There is a nature reserve with a swimming pond, trails, kayaking, playgrounds, and more.
We are 10 minutes from downtown Boston where we enjoy everything a big city has to offer. We are close to the beach, too!
There’s lots more to learn about this family!
