Meet Tom and Katherine...

    • About Us:

      Katherine was a preschool teacher for 5 years. During the pandemic Katherine transitioned to being a nanny to a sweet little boy. Katherine is planning to be a stay-at-home mom once we have a child of our own.

      Tom is a Director of Software Engineering at a HealthTech company and has been in the software industry for over 10 years.

    • Our Story:

      Tom and Katherine met on multiple dating apps in December 2016. After talking for a few weeks, they went to brunch. Later that night they were both out with friends and decided to meet again. They got married in December 2021 in a ceremony seen by all of their friends and family.

    • Our Hobbies:

      Katherine enjoys baking, exercising, and reading books. Tom spends time watching all New England sports teams, playing soccer, and card games.

      Together we like trying new restaurants or revisiting our favorites, going to the driving range, or hosting Sunday Football parties with friends and family.

    • Qualities We See in Each Other:

      Katherine was drawn to Tom because he is kind, funny, and works hard. He is going to make an incredible father.

      Tom thought Katherine was incredibly strong, easily the strongest person he has had the opportunity to get to know. She has overcome everything that life has thrown at her. She is also amazing with children and will make a great mother.

    • Our Extended Family:

      Katherine’s family is large and loving and all live locally. Katherine and Tom are lucky enough to be an aunt and uncle to multiple nieces and nephews! Tom’s friend group is large and loving. Even though they are not blood they are his family. He has a group of childhood friends that he has known for over 20 years. Our friends and family are excited to welcome our child to the family!

    • Our Adoption Story:

      Due to medical reasons Katherine is unable to carry a child. Katherine and Tom discussed this early in their relationship and agreed growing their family through adoption was a great opportunity.

    • Special Activities We Look Forward to Doing with Our Child:

      Katherine is looking forward to baking all types of treats with our child. She can’t wait to pass down recipes that her mom has passed to her. Additionally Katherine can’t wait to see her child play and spend time with his/her cousins.

      Tom is excited to read books, play games, and listen to music together. He looks forward to coaching sports teams, help with schoolwork, and attending concerts or plays they are in.

    • Holiday Gatherings:

      Tom and Katherine look forward to keeping existing traditions with our larger family/friend unit, which there are many, while also creating new traditions with our child.

    • Our Home & Neighborhood:

      Tom and Katherine purchased a home in a suburban town South of Boston. The town has good school systems and we are close to beaches, parks, and the city. Our yard has plenty of space for a child to play and explore.
