Back in 2006 we met at a local community college and became fast friends. The following fall, we were elated to find each other in the same class at a four-year university!  We have been happily married since 2016 and love each other more with each day that passes.

We love spending time with family and friends, traveling, hiking with our dogs, cooking, gardening, playing board games, camping and being outside!

While we’re both only children, we feel this has strengthened our passion to grow our family. We’re very fortunate to both have large extended families in the surrounding area who we spend lots of time with!  Kate’s parents have lots of brothers and sisters making for a large network of aunt/uncles and cousins.  Tom’s parents only have one sibling between them, but they also have a large extended family nearby.  We also have two sweet rescue pups waiting for a tiny human blessing!

Infertility is a shameless and unbiased issue. After struggling with this for many years and weighing our options, adoption seemed like the most perfect fit.  In addition to infertility, Tom was adopted at birth by his parents.  Adoption is something that has always called to us, and we are ready to embark on this journey!

For us, it’s about the small joys of parenthood. Watching our child learn, develop and experience life!  Being there for achievements, successes, celebrations and even disappointment.  As our child grows, we hope to provide access to all interests they might have and enjoy those experiences together.  We cannot wait to share all our family traditions and create some new ones with our little blessing.

Holidays are a big deal in both of our families! We have large gatherings for all the major holidays including Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Since we married over 7 years ago, we have combined our family festivities so there is less time spent traveling from location to location, and more time spent with those we love.  We have recently started hosting Thanksgiving, which has always been Kate’s favorite holiday.  While Christmas changes between Kate’s parents hosting and Tom’s parents hosting each year, we look forward to having everyone at our home on Christmas morning to open gifts with our newest addition (who is sure to be spoiled rotten by all four, overly loving and eager grandparents).

We live in a woodsy area of a coastal town in Southern Massachusetts. Our craftsman style house is situated on a cul-de-sac on five acres (mostly woods), with a fantastic fenced in yard.  We are surrounded by families who are constantly outside playing, and the elementary school is walking distance!
