Meet Ryan and Bima...
-
About Us:
We grew up in the same town and have known each other since junior high school. It wasn’t until seven years ago that we ran into each other at a mutual friend’s BBQ. Shortly after the BBQ we began to date which quickly blossomed into a wonderful relationship. After purchasing our first home together in 2016, Bima asked Ryan to marry him. We got married in early 2019.

Our Family:
Joey is our 13-year-old son. He is extremely smart and has a huge heart. Joey likes to play basketball and spend time with his friends. Joey is looking forward to teaching his new sibling how to swim and play sports.
Marcus is our 3-year-old son. We adopted Marcus in 2019. Marcus loves to play with his toy dinosaurs. He can do a great T-REX impression. Marcus is looking forward to being a big brother. Ryan and Bima have large extended families consisting of 20+ aunts and uncles and 50+ first and second cousins. We look forward to introducing our new child to our large and loving family.

Qualities We See in Each Other:
Bima about Ryan: Ryan is my partner in life. I love him very much. I feel that he is one of the most generous, caring, loving, and thoughtful people I know. He makes me a better person and continuously motivates me through our life. More than my husband, Ryan is my best friend. He’s also a great father to our son’s.
Ryan about Bima: Bima is a wonderful husband and partner. We work, play, and laugh together daily. He is my rock, and he never ceases to amaze me. He is compassionate and strong. He’s loyal and honest. One of the qualities that I love about Bima is that he’s an amazing father.

Our Adoption Story:
Being a same-sex couple, adoption was our first choice. We are supportive of an open adoption and look forward to working together to create a plan that will honor and respect the level of openness you choose for yourself, your child, and your family. Above all else, our goal is to maintain a connection. The miracle of adoption has helped grow our family along with Ryan’s immediate family as his sister was adopted into his family as an infant. He also has two adoptive cousins that are now in their thirties. Not only will your child have an enormous support system, but it will also be inclusive of family members that have been adopted themselves.

Activities We Look Forward to:
All our family members are ready to welcome another child into our family. We look forward to cutting down our Christmas tree, going apple picking, carving pumpkins, and going on our annual vacation. We’ve spent countless hours talking about details on how we plan to raise our child. We get excited about the many things we will be able to teach, the values we will instill, and the adventures we will share.

Our Home & Neighborhood:
We live in a split-level style home that has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. We like to call the style of our home modern, rustic farmhouse. We are very fortunate to have a large yard where there’s plenty of room to run around and play. We have a garden, a playground and 12 chickens. We also have a large in-ground swimming pool. In the summertime you will find us outside planting flowers, spending time with family on our deck or swimming in our swimming pool and having cookouts.
There’s lots more to learn about this family!
