Meet Paul and Heather...
Hi! We’re Heather and Paul. Paul is a software engineer and Heather is a clinical social worker. We live with our two cats, Izzy and Seraphine, in our home outside of Boston. Our house is within walking distance to many parks and playgrounds and is close to the center of our town.
We met in 2015 when Paul’s aunt Lisa, who is a friend and coworker of Heather’s, introduced us. We went out to dinner on our first date and connected right away even though we are opposites in many ways! We both knew within a month that we would marry each other someday. In 2018 we got married on a lake in Vermont near where Heather grew up.
Paul is a big fan of Boston sports and loves playing competitive sports like golf, softball, and cornhole. Heather enjoys being outside, staying active, cooking and trying out new recipes. We both love being around family and friends and laugh a lot.
We spend a lot of time outdoors throughout the year: apple picking in the fall, skiing in the winter, and fishing in the summer. We love spending the day at the beach or going for a hike in the woods. We are very excited to share all our hobbies with our child and encourage him/her to try new activities.
Our Extended Family:
Paul comes from a large, close-knit family who lives nearby and sees each other regularly for dinners, cookouts, and other gatherings. Every summer we take a weeklong trip to the New Hampshire mountains with Paul’s family.
Most of Heather’s family lives in Vermont, are very outdoorsy, and we go visit them often. We have 4 nephews and one niece ages 0-8. Our families are very much looking forward to welcoming our child with open arms!
Our Adoption Story:
Due to medical reasons we are unable to have biological children. In our hearts we believe our child is meant to find his/her way to us through adoption. We have so much love to give to a child and can’t wait to grow our family!
Our families get together for every holiday. We typically alternate spending holidays with each of our families. We can’t wait to hang our child’s stocking next to ours at Christmas and wrap gifts from “Santa”. We share big dinners at Easter and Thanksgiving, decorate eggs for Easter with our niece and nephews, and are excited to dress up and go trick or treating with our child on Halloween. We also can’t wait to create new traditions with our child.
There’s lots more to learn about this family!
