Matt grew up in Pennsylvania, and Stephen grew up in Massachusetts. We met each other in Boston on a cold winter night in 2016 and hit it off immediately! We were engaged in 2019 and got married a year later.

We love to spend time in the kitchen; Matt cooks, and Stephen bakes. Matt is an avid reader, while Stephen is more of a movie buff. We like to stay active too and enjoy running and cycling. We spend time with family and friends whenever we can!

Matt: Stephen makes everything more joyous and fun. I am in awe of how dedicated he is to his family, his friends, and his students. He is thoughtful about the little things and has a way of making people feel memorable and special. He is great at making me break out of my shell and think about things in a new and different way.

Stephen: Matt is extremely caring and compassionate. He takes his time with decisions and thinks things through. When Matt sets goals, he works hard to achieve them! He makes me a better person inside and out.

Matt’s family is large, loud, and lovely! Most are a few hours away out-of-state, so when we visit, it’s usually for an extended stay. Stephen’s family is relatively small and close-knit. We live about an hour away from each other and try to connect whenever we can. Together, we have 5 nieces and nephews.

We talked about starting a family early in our relationship. While there are multiple options for gay men to start a family, we both felt like adoption was the right path for us. We can’t wait to be dads!

We can’t wait to explore with our child and nurture their creativity. We are looking forward to taking trips up and down the east coast; cooking and baking together; and sharing family dinners. The sky’s the limit!

Holidays are all about spending time with friends and family. We don’t shy away from a July 4th cookout or a Christmas potluck. We usually split holidays between Matt’s family and Stephen’s. Last year we hosted Stephen’s family for Thanksgiving!

We live in a town just outside of Boston, MA. Our home has a big, bright living room with a big cozy couch, four bedrooms, and a perfectly sized backyard. We live on a quiet street with lots of families and friendly pups. An added bonus – we can walk to three different playgrounds and an ice cream shop!
