• About Us:

Dave is an intellectual property attorney for a medical device company.  Kate is an education consultant and works for families with children with special learning needs.  We live north of Boston, Massachusetts.

Sydney is Dave’s daughter from a previous relationship.  She is a high school student who works with small children at a local summer camp.  Sydney lives with us full time.

    • Our Story:

We met in November of 2011.  We were set up by a mutual friend.  After that first date, we were inseparable.  We got engaged in front of a Christmas tree in December of 2012 and married in a garden ceremony in front of family and friends June of 2013.

    • Our Hobbies:

We enjoy staying active by taking long walks, working out together, or kayaking along a lazy river.  In the summer we enjoy weekend daytrips to the beach or the mountains.  Another big hobby of ours is baking goodies for our family and friends.  We love looking at and trying new recipes.  Dinners can be adventurous in that we love trying new dishes and experimenting in the kitchen.

Sydney loves dance and music.  We love sharing her joy of the arts and try to engage her passions alongside of her- as much as she will allow us!

    • Qualities We See In Each Other:

Kate:   Dave is a wonderful husband and partner.  We work, play, and laugh together daily.  He is my rock, and he never ceases to amaze me.  He is compassionated yet strong.  He is loyal and honest.  I know he will make an awesome dad again.  If I ever doubt myself or get discouraged, he is always there for me.  We always strive to fulfill each other’s needs.  I love this man and cannot imagine my life without him.  The bond we share is truly a gift.

Dave:  Kate is my best friend, my partner, and the best wife I could ever hope for.  Kate is the most thoughtful, caring, and loving person I have ever met.  She brings out the best in me and pushes me to the be the best person that I can be.  Kate is also one of the cutest people I know.  She finds fun in even the little things like getting new toys for our cat Marty or planning a little day outing.  To me, Kate is simply the most special person in the world.

    • Our Extended Family:

We are lucky that Kate’s family – her sister, mother, and father – live close to our home.  We spend our holidays with Kate’s family and enjoy dinners, barbeques, and birthday parties together.  Dave’s family lives in the South and on the west coast.  Dave’s father visits regularly and he even took Sydney on a trip across the West!  Dave has six aunts and uncles, as well as a niece and nephew.

    • Adoption Story:

We spent four years trying to start our family.  After several attempts with fertility doctors and a surgery, we decided that it was not going to work out.  That is when we considered adoption because we want to start a family and provide a child with all the love that we have.  We are both excited to begin our new family and bring a new child into our lives.

    • Special Activities We Look Forward to Doing with Our Child:

We cannot wait to welcome our child into our family traditions – decorating for each season, celebrating holidays with extended family, and attending town holiday events.  We are so excited to teach our child how to play sports, how to ride a bicycle, and to be there for many of his/her first moments.

    • Holiday Gatherings:

The holidays are very important to us and we make them fun.  We decorate for every holiday – from Valentine’s Day to Easter to the Fourth and all the way to Christmas.  We plan special dinners and events with family and friends.  Christmas is a big holiday for us.  We have Kate’s family over for a huge gift opening on Christmas day.  Dave loves watching the 1980s movie A Christmas Story on the television, and we have a special holiday meal that is Italian themed.  We will continue all of our holiday traditions after we have adopted.

    • Our Home & Neighborhood:

We live in a small town north of Boston.  Our home is on two acres and is located on a cul-de-sac with several other families.  It has a large fenced-in backyard with many flowers and plants.  The town has many parks and two farms within a half mile that sell fruit and vegetables.  We also are within a few minutes of a large lake that has a beach and a hike up a hill that gives you a view all the way to Worcester on a good day.  We also close to beaches on the ocean and mountains to the north.

There’s lots more to learn about this family!
