Meet Brady and Chris...
Brady is a communications consultant and Chris is a nurse practitioner, careers that channel our creative and compassionate characters. We met eight years ago, married during the summer of 2020 and moved to our home by the ocean a year later. We welcomed our golden retriever, Orlagh, into our home in 2021. We cannot wait to now welcome a son or daughter into our family.
We both love time outdoors, including sailing, playing tennis and hiking with Orlagh. We also enjoy cozy nights watching movies or reading, nonfiction for Brady and novels for Chris. Brady loves to cook and bake, while Chris loves to eat (and has really sharpened his dishwashing skills)!
Qualities We See in Each Other:
Brady: From day one, I’ve been so attracted to the natural, calming warmth that Chris radiates to all those around him. Life’s happiest moments are brighter and the lows are shallower when Chris is by your side. His limitless compassion for others is what drives him, which, combined with his curious nature and thirst for growth, will make him a fantastic parent.
Chris: All those who know Brady have benefitted from his ability to bring out the best while acknowledging the challenges in others. Nearly ten years later, I still light up when he enters the room, an effect I know he has on many. His zest for life and unwavering commitment to others will make him an amazing parent.
Our Extended Family:
We are blessed with an incredibly supportive network of family very close to home, including our parents, siblings, aunts/uncles and many cousins! Our home is often a meeting place for both sides of our family, whether spent at the beach in the summer or by the fireplace in the winter. Our family is so excited to continue growing and ready to help!
Our Adoption Story:
We have always talked about starting a family together and both feel a deep sense of responsibility to share our blessings for the betterment of others, which made adoption the ideal path for us to become parents. We cherish the thought of joining the parenting journey and opening our hearts and home to our child’s courageous birth parents.
Special Activities We Look Forward to Doing with Our Child:
We look forward to the little moments like baking Christmas cookies or skipping rocks at the beach and the milestones like learning how to walk or school graduations. A few special things will continue to make our house a home: midday dance breaks, a kitchen marked by the aroma of homecooked meals and a space on every couch or bedside to share funny stories or face difficult conversations together.
With so many family members in the area, our holidays are always exciting and memorable. We’ve been able to continue some of the traditions, including Thanksgiving, by hosting at our home, though there are always plenty of options to rotate between. No occasion is too small to celebrate in our family, from birthdays to St. Patrick’s Day or even losing a first tooth!
There’s lots more to learn about this family!
